Unemployed Need Not Apply
The Impacts of Unemployment Status
You’re applying for a job. You have the credentials and the desire to do the job well and so you apply confidently along with dozens of other perspective candidates. The only problem seems to be your lack of callbacks. Could it be your unemployed status? Assistant Professor Tiffany Trzebiatowski asked that same question. She looked at the same job posted in two major cities, New York and Los Angles, looking for callback rates and the impact of laws made to help applicants with unemployment status.
How can job seekers with an unemployed status improve their callback rate?
How can hiring managers challenge unemployment status stereotypes?
What can lawmakers learn and share from this research?
